We are thrilled with the price for the newly-discovered oil painting by Sir Winston Churchill, which more than tripled its pre-sale low estimate. The record price achieved for Patrick Heron is almost double the previous record for the artist C set at Sothebys in June this year C and works by a number of his contemporaries, including Frost, Heath and Wynter also performed exceptionally well, setting new records. From the early part of the century, records were also established for works by Bevan andNicholson.
